LES AUTOCHTONES A L’EPREUVE DU DEVELOPPEMENT D’UNE VILLE SECONDAIRE DE LA COTE D’IVOIRE, L’EXEMPLE DES ADJOUKROU A DABOU

Abstract

The areas of the Ivorian forest south are areas of strong economic potentialities. Large state investments, intensity of lands’ exploitation through cash crops, presence of the sea, experimentation and strong decentralization implementation, populations’ wealth, modern villages, etc are as much advantages from which the natives of these areas take profit in order to enforce their cities. Unfortely, except Abidjan, the cities of the Ivorian forest south don’t always know the expected development. The major problem provoked by our study is the inadequacy of contribution of natives in the development of Ivoirian cities, particularly the cities of the forest south. Our aim is to contribute to a better appreciation of the commitment of natives in the development of their cities. The study reveals that the Adjoukrou natives don’t sufficiently invest in Dabou but they remain strongly attached to the local political power.
