Abstract

Magic practices appear as a frequent reason of denunciation to the Court of the Holy Office in the inquisitorial processes of the XVIII th century. These were led by individuals who acceded to diverse tools and writing supports and who, holding a certain degree of literacy, could use them as a vehicle for their heretical and heterodox practices. This study is about Jacome Dupré's process, soldier of the Royal Walloon Guards in Tarragona, whose process is located at Harvard Divinity School Archive (MA, U.S.A.).
